Gran Barquero Palo Cortado 25 anos

Color: Dark golden. Aroma: Leather purse, almonds, orange, candied ginger and walnut. Taste notes: Dry and refreshing, but with a surprising fullness, nutty notes (walnut, hazelnut), slightly salty hints of olives and a long aftertaste of dried fruit.

Montilla is not exactly known for Palo Cortado, but that only makes this bottle even more exciting! Made on Pedro Ximénez as it is, one finds a little more fullness than in the palomino-based examples from Jerez. The wine is on average at least 25 years old, and it is bottled from selected casks in the solera, which is believed to have the aroma of an amontillado and the mouthfeel of an oloroso.
