Monmousseau Cremant de Loire Rose

Lovely pink to salmon color. Lively but not aggressive. Bright in the mouth, slightly acidulous. Lots of red fruits with a bit of pepper.

Hand harvesting of the grapes. Champagne-like pressing without chains or helical screw so as to avoid any damaging of the grapes. The final blend remained on lees in their cellars 18 months before disgorgment.

Monmousseau is without question the Loire Valley’s most famous producer of sparkling wines. The winery was founded in 1886 with extensive vineyard holdings above ground and 15 kilometers of underground tunnels for fermentation and aging below them. Cremant de Touraine is something of a house specialty, as the were originally responsible for the creation of the Cremant de Touraine category. We are proudly working with a broad array of sparkling wines from Monmousseau, along with still examples of Vouvray and Cabernet Franc.
