Madam Veuve Point Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2016

With a deep ruby aspect, this wine unfolds a bouquet that opens onto a basket of small red and black fruits (strawberry, cherry, currant and blueberry), evolving toward cooked prunes, peppery nuances, leather and underbrush. This Pinot is very lively in the mouth: structured, supple and full, with volume and body. It is the ideal partner of meat pies, poultry or even a pot-au-feu. Its natural elegance predisposes it to an alliance with a piece of roast veal, rare red meats and cheese recipes (soufflés, tartiflettes, etc.).

Wine producing Burgundy extends from the north of the Yonne (Joigny) to the south of the Saône-et-Loire, ranging over approximately 300 km. It covers the proper Burgundian departments and some of the cantons of the Rhône. Beaujolais gained its autonomy here. Red Burgundy is the child of Pinot Noir. Known under this name since 1375 and born here, this vintage gives birth to all the great red wines of the Burgundy wine-growing region. Fragile and jealously coveted, it requires very attentive care during its growing period. Instituted in 1937, this Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée extends across 299 towns of wine-growing Burgundy. Red Burgundy evokes plenitude. This beginner’s wine offers a good key to traversing the range of red wines. The soils of this area of appellation are very diverse as a result of their geographic location. Resting on lands of the upper Jurassic, (Kimmeridgian and Portlandian), they are principally composed of clay, marl and limestone.
