Story
Aragone was born from the rocky and calcareous soils of Magliano di Grosseto, in the south-west part of the Tuscan Maremma, from a wine area that became famous for the blends that gave life to the great Supertuscan wines obtained from Bordeaux varieties.
It consists of local Sangiovese, Spanish Alicante and French Syrah grapes, accompanied by small percentages of Sardinian Carignano. The idea is to create a Super-Med wine, mixing together the noble varieties that are grown in the Mediterranean area. Ferment with indigenous yeasts. It matures for 22 months in French oak tonneaux.
The name Aragone refers to the Aragonese of Spain, who together with the Florentine de 'Medici family dominated the Maremma region in 1500. The six-pointed star depicted on the label represents the aerial view of the Forte Stella, located in Porto Ercole, little more south of Grossetto.
