Intense ruby ​​color with purple reflections. Expressive nose of blackcurrant, cherry jam and sweet liquorice. Notes of cuttlefish ink. The palate is characterized by its density and minerality. Lots of sweetness tempered by freshness and its aromatic register of black fruit and schist. Notes of fresh truffles. The finish is remarkably smooth and fine, with great tannic density. Very persistent. A wine of great expression, concentrated and elegant.

This vintage will be remembered as one of the lowest in terms of quantity, and one of the best in terms of quality. The grapes have an interesting tannic structure because of the weather (rainy springtime and dry summer). The red wines have a deep dark purple robe. The nose is well balanced and fresh with intense fruity and mineral notes. The mouth is beautifully rich and the tannins are structured and finely grained. This vintage offers a very good ageing potential.

This wine was created in 2001 in honour of Baron Pierre Le Roy de Boiseaumarié. With a blend in which Grenache and Syrah have pride of place, its complexity, opulence and delicate spicy and ripe fruit aromas, the Cuvée du Baron veritably embodies the distinctiveness of our terroir.
