Rum Belize Chateau du Breuil

Tasting notes: Bouquet expresses itself on the honey of flowers, the ripe banana and a light caramel, depth of delicate candied fruits. The palate, initially light and floral, coats the palate. Then appear notes of cooked banana, citrus fruits and cocoa. The finish is unctuous with flavors of cinnamon and raisins.

The Rum Explorer series from Château du Breuil dedicates each bottling to a specific rum region. This bottling as a Blend of two to three year old rums comes from the Travellers Distillery in Belize, which specialises in the production of old and dark rums. After fermentation and distillation of the molasses, the rum is stored in carbonised oak barrels. Château du Breuil was refined by post-maturing in American oak barrels that previously held a cognac-based spirit. This is to help balance the tannins and thus achieve more roundness.
