Founded in the 18th century, Château Ormes de Pez is located in the Médoc, in the Saint-Estèphe appellation. Owned by the Cazes family since 1939, Château Ormes de Pez has undergone major renovations and modernisation of both the tools and the vineyard. The estate takes its name from "pez" meaning "peace" in local dialect, as well as from the elm trees that existed on the estate before they almost disappeared from Europe due to a disease. The wines of Château Ormes de Pez are made with the same care and attention as those of Château Lynch-Bages, a Cru Classé in Pauillac, also owned by the Cazes family. Reflecting the typical style of Saint-Estèphe, the wines of Château Ormes de Pez combine a gourmet taste and brightness of fruit with a fleshy texture and a powerful body that promise many years of ageing.
