Chateau Pavie-Macquin Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2022

Expressing perfectly the quality of its terroir, this 2022 vintage stands out for its freshness and wonderful minerality.

Whole grapes are vatted by gravity, then vinified by plot in concrete vats. Aged on fine lees for 16 to 20 months in barrels (50% new and 50% one-wine barrels) with a first racking after 6 to 10 months of ageing, then a second one a year later, before bottling.

Château Pavie Macquin was founded in the 19th century by Albert Macquin, the man who introduced grafted vines to France in order to save the country's vineyards from the destruction caused by phylloxera. Today, the château is still owned by the descendants of Albert Macquin. This Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé is a benchmark for the appellation, and ranks among the world's greatest crus.
