Information
The body is brilliant, golden straw yellow in colour. The bubbles are fine. The mousse is discreet and persistent. The nose is very expressive and open, offering notes of fruit and brioche, as well as aromas of peach, white flowers (hawthorn, acacia) and vanilla pod. The attack in the mouth is lively and fresh, very harmonious. Fruit and honey flavours then follow, in a delicate expression. Brut Prestige, which acquires its full maturity over the course of 3-4 years of ageing in the cellar, holds excellent aromatic potential.
About manufacturer
Taittinger Champagne\'s origins date back to 1734 when Jacques Fourneaux founded the original House. Around 1912, Pierre Taittinger and one of his brothers-in-law ran a Champagne distribution and export business. As a young cavalry officer in the 1st World War, Pierre spent much time in the Champagne area where he was stationed near Epernay. He fell in love with the vineyards and bought the property and its vineyards from Fourneaux in 1932. Taittinger is family owned with the Taittinger headquarters in Reims, situated above magnificent 4th Century Roman cellars and run by Claude Taittinger (Pierre\'s son). The flagship wines of the house are the Comtes de Champagne (100% Chardonnay) and Comtes de Champagne Rosé (100% Pinot Noir), both available at The Champagne Company along with Taittinger Brut Reserve and Taittinger Nocturne. Taittinger is one of the most popular Grandes Marques houses and the estate boasts extensive vineyard holdings including prestigious Grands Crus vineyards in the Cotes des Blancs and Montagne de Reims regions. Unique among the other houses, a higher proportion of Chardonnay gives Taittinger its signature. Taittinger Champagne is available in large Champagne bottles too.
